A Personal Statement on the Creative Use of AI

As a designer with a focus on technology and an interest in artificial intelligence, I’d like to state that I will not claim an artificially generated image as anything but generated by an AI. I know that my statement does little too circumvent the dangers of artificial intelligence to misinformation as well as from taking away labor from fellow creatives. But I feel it’s important that myself as well as any creative to state this in a public space closely aligned with their work.

I feel that artificial intelligence is valuable and has been a valuable tool for my process. I have no interest in investing in falsehoods and creating work that aims to manipulate or harm audiences or producers. I believe and hope artificial intelligence can be used ethically to align with our values and it’s alignment will be a sought after feature.
